Flooding downpours west & central Med.

Sunday
Low pressure over southern Europe brings unsettled and cool conditions to Spain, southern France and Italy. Areas of heavy rain, with hail and thunderstorms, and a risk of flash flooding in places. Portugal may escape mainly dry. Temperatures only 10 to 15C across south-western Europe. Warmer for Italy, 20 to 25C away from rain.
Heavy rain also affects the Adriatic coast of the Balkans, but Greece will be dry. Warm across south-eastern Europe due to southerly winds. Reaching 25C in Hungary and areas around the Black Sea. A front brings rain to central Poland, with snow over the mountains. Chilly northeasterly winds affect north-central Europe, but much of Germany and the Low Countries will be dry with sunshine. Temperatures 6 to 9C.
High pressure over Scandinavia brings dry and sunny weather, although some showers will affect coastal areas around the southern Baltic, plus Denmark. Chilly with widespread frost morning and night.

Monday
A vigorous area of low pressure will develop over the western Mediterranean and drift north into central Europe. Prolonged heavy rain for south-eastern France and northern Italy, with heavy snowfalls across the Alps. Gale force winds are also expected. Showers for northern Spain, snow over the mountains. Thundery downpours also for the Balearics, but southern Spain and Portugal should stay generally dry.
Some rain affects eastern France and Belgium, whilst much of Germany stays dry. Cool and windy for central Europe. Easterly winds dominate across northern Europe as high pressure resides over Scandinavia. Dry for most of Norway, Sweden and Finland, although Denmark will see a risk of showers. South-east Europe toward Greece and the Black Sea stays dry and warm.
