High pressure influences Spain and Portugal bringing a hot and sunny day, 34 to 38C inland in southern-central Spain. Hot too in southern France, around 35C. Fresher elsewhere across France, 23 to 27C. The heat is swept away into Germany, 32 to 35C in northern areas. Thunderstorms for the Low Countries as a cold front moves eastwards, spreading across northern Germany into Denmark later. A few thunderstorms may also pop up over the Alps and Balkan mountains, plus a scattering of storms for eastern Europe by afternoon. Much of Greece and Italy will be dry, 30 to 35C. Rain affects southern Scandinavia, with some thunder. High pressure toward the north brings fair and very warm conditions for Finland and the far north, 25 to locally 30C.


Sunday
Lots of dry weather for south-western Europe, with sunshine for Spain and Portugal, much of the Mediterranean and France. Windy for north-west France with some rain associated with a cold front. Pressure builds across Germany bringing a fair day. Scattered afternoon showers for the Alps and Balkans, plus southern Italy and Greece, but plenty of sunshine too. Generally very warm, 27 to 32C across central Europe. Thunderstorms for eastern Europe and central Scandinavia. Improving across southern Norway and Sweden. Hot around the Baltic, topping 30C.
