Thundery eastern Europe and Scandinavia

Monday
A weak cold front brings showers to northern France and the far north-west of Iberia, but much of Spain, Portugal and France will be hot, sunny and dry. Temperatures 34 to 37C or above in central-southern Spain and the far south of France. Local thunderstorms for the western Alps and northern Italy. Areas of thunderstorms for the mountains of Romania, Bulgaria and western Ukraine. Largely dry and sunny across the Mediterranean, including southern Italy and Greece . Central Italy msy hit 40C.
A front lies across the Low Countries, producing cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain, some heavier showers. Most of Germany will be dry and sunny, reaching 30C. Scattered thunderstorms for Poland, the Baltic states and northern Sweden. Patchy rain moves into south-west Norway, but southern Scandinavia will be dry. 30 to 33C in the far south of Sweden.

Tuesday
Heat continues to build actoss the south of Spain and Portugal, reaching 40C inland, aiding by an airflow from the continental interior. Breezy in the north & west of Iberia, and much cooler for the Biscay coast, only 21 to 24C. Largely dry across France, Germany and the Low Countries. A few thunderstorms for eastern France and the Alps. Hot around the French Riviera, into the upper 30s Celsius. Hot and dry for Italy too. Thundery for the inland Balkans and Romania, also western Ukraine. Poland and the Czech Republic will stay dry, with temperatures widely into the 30s. A swathe of heavy and thundery rain affects Norway, with scattered showers in Sweden and Finland. Broadly hot across Scandinavia, 27 to 31C even toward the far north as high pressure over northern Russia continues to waft warm air northwards.
