Low pressure at first, rising by weekend

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times for Atlantic coastal areas of northeast Portugaland Spain through the morning easing into the afternoon with sunshine and showers to follow, temperatures 8C. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain prolonged and heavy extending through France across Germany to Austria continuing through most of the day. Further areas of patchy rain for Switzerland and norther Italy with snow over Italian and Swiss Alps. From northwest Scotland to Belgium, Netherlands across Denmark to southern Sweden and Norway to Poland and Baltic coasts some sunshine though frequent blustery showers with a fresh northwest wind and increasing windchill. Southeast Europe Bosina, Greece to Turkey sunshine and showers. Staying cold with temperatures well below 0C for northern areas, temperatures near or just above 0C for most central areas and upto 12C across south.

Thursday
Showers continue from Scotland, along North Sea coasts of England, into Denmark and southern Scandanavia and along Baltic coasts. Cloud and rain also contonues for northeast Portugal, across central France, through Alpine districts and southeaswards to Greece and Turkey though becoming patchy moving south.
