Substantial snow over the Alps

Sunday
High pressure builds across northwest Europe, leaving much of Germany, the Low Countries, France and Iberia dry. Very warm in southwest Spain and Portugal. Around 25C in eastern Spain.
A strong mistral wind for southern France, as low pressure develops over the central Mediterranean. Thundery rain for central and southern Italy, plus the Balkans. Extensive snow for the eastern Alps. Bursts of rain for Poland and Slovakia. Sunshine and scattered showers for Romania and Bulgaria. Largely dry for mainland Greece and the Aegean Sea.
A cool northwesterly breeze across Scandinavia. Low pressure to the north brings heavy rain and snow to northern Sweden and Norway. Dry around the southern Baltic.

Monday
High pressure will become centred around the North Sea, whilst low pressure lies over the central Mediterranean. Cool temperatures across central-eastern Europe. Dry for France, Spain and Portugal - very warm again in the southwest of Iberia. A strong easterly wind for the Alps and southern France. Largely dry for the Low Countries. A few showers are possible for Germany.
Very wet for the Balkans and central-southern Italy, with cool temperatures and snow over the mountains. Flooding is likely from prolonged rainfall in some areas. Heavy showers too for Greece, although the Greek Islands, plus the eastern Mediterranean will be dry and sunny. Southern Scandinavia will be dry with sunny spells. A few showers for northwest Norway. Showery too for eastern Europe.
