Dry for much of Scandinavia


Wednesday
A fair day over Portugal and Spain, plenty of sunshine. Scattered showers in the Balearics. Heavier and thundery showers in Corsica and Sardinia. The showers could be more widespread and thundery in central and northern Italy. Greece and western Turkey will be dry with lots of sunshine, although heavy thunderstorms in northern Turkey.
A scattering of showers in western France, and some rain toward the Alps, but central areas should be dry. The Low Countries see sunshine and scattered showers. Fair in northern Germany, thundery rain to the south. Poland sees sunshine, but local downpours in the east. Thunderstorms, some of them heavy cross Hungary and Austria, these extending into Switzerland.
Sunshine and dry weather in Denmark. Much of Sweden will be dry with plenty of sunshine and it should be dry in Norway too. Heavy and thundery showers across the Baltic States. Most of Finland will be dry with sunny spells.


Thursday
Generally low pressure affects central Europe with extensive areas of rain and thundery downpours stretching from northern Spain and France to the Alps, northern Italy and many central-eastern countries including Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Poland. Hit and miss bursts of rain for northern Germany, Denmark and the Low Countries, with some dry weather in central Germany.
Southern Spain and Portugal stay dry and hot with sunshine. Also dry for the far south of Italy and Sicily, plus Greece, western Turkey and Black Sea coasts.
East to northeasterly winds prevail across Scandinavaia, with high pressure centred toward the northwest. Mainly dry for Norway, Sweden and Finland. Breezy around the Baltic. Some showers for the Baltic states.
