European forecast - 2020年6月25日
Thunderstorms developing
Drier and sunnier north and south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 25th June 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Thundery showers continue to develop as heat builds across much of central Europe for the end of the week. High pressure weakening across Scandinavia allowing fronts to push into northern parts but staying mainly dry here. Largely dry with sunshine across the southern Europe.

Thursday
Through the day scattered showers, some of these thundery, are expected to develop across central Europe. Northern Spain and Portugal will see more in the way of cloud with some patchy rain initially before heavier more organised rain, some thundery, will develop through the afternoon. Mainland Greece will also see showers develop, however, the islands and Turkey should remain mostly dry and fine.
Western and central parts of France in particular will see heavy and thundery rain. This will also be the case across Austria and the Czech Republic as well as central and southern Poland. Many places staying largely dry with sunshine too but always the risk of thundery downpours as the heat of the day builds.
Largely dry and fine with sunshine across much of Scandinavia although the high pressure is expected to slacken and move southwards allowing low pressure and associated fronts to push across northern parts of Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Friday
Largely dry and sunny across much of western and southern Europe, although do expect some cloudier skies across northern Spain and Portugal with some patchy, mostly light, rain.
A front over central France will continue to push eastwards through the day. On this front will be heavier bursts of rain in places, some thundery, with scattered showers developing behind. Ahead of the front expect largely dry, fine and hot conditions. Elsewhere, it looks to start largely dry and fine before showers develop in intensity through the morning giving some possible thundery outbreaks as the day progresses. Staying largely unsettled across eastern Europe as well as over Greece with the higher chance of showers developing over Turkey today compared to yesterday.
Weak high pressure sits across much of Scandinavia giving mostly dry conditions across Sweden, Norway and Norway, however with low pressure to the north, northern fringes of particularly Sweden and Finland will see cloudier skies and some patchy rain throughout the day.
