Major deluges and flash flooding
Shallow low pressure across western Europe brings another very warm and thundery pattern to the continent. Widespread slow-moving torrential downpours and flash flooding possible across central-eastern Spain, the west and north of France, plus the Low Countries, central Germany and the Alps. Isolated thunderstorms also popping up for the Italian peninsula and the Balkan states. Temperatures around 22 tpo 25C for Spain and France, but rising toward 30C for Germany, inland areas of the Low Countries and also Poland and southern Sweden.
High pressure across the Norwegian Sea maintains largely fair weather across Scandinavia, althrough local thundery bursts may clip Denmark and south-west Norway. High pressure over eastern Europe brings lots of dry weather for Poland, Ukraine and Romania. Isolated showers for inland Greece , but the Greek islands should stay dry and sunny, 25C.
A very similar weather pattern overall. Shallow slow moving low pressure over western Europe maintains heat, humidity and the scope for violent thundery downpours. Temperatures widely into the mid to high 20s Celsius, or locally 30C across the heart of the continent. The south of Spain and also Portugal should escape dry with lots of sunshine. However, a swathe from northern Spain, across much of France, the Alps, Low Countries and northern Germany are all at risk of torrential rainstorms and frequent lightning. Clusters of thundery showers too for the spine of Italy and the Balkans.
Meanwhile, eastern Europe and Scandinavia will be largely dry beneath generally high pressure. Lots of sunshine for the west of Norway. A east to north-easterly breeze around the Baltic, with coastal fog possible.
