European forecast - 2018年6月29日
Mainly Dry In the North
Downpours In the South

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 29th June 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Plenty of dry weather across more northern areas of the Europe as high pressure persists, but summery downpours elsewhere.

Friday
During Friday and high pressure continues to dominate across the UK and up towards Norway bringing fine and very warm conditions here. Low pressure move eastwards across Finland though will bring more unsettled conditions here with some rain or showers, moving down into Poland later as well. Turning cooler across much of Scandinavia through the day as a N'ly wind develops. Much of central and southern areas of Europe will maintain plenty of sunshine and also very warm indeed, but scattered and heavy thundery downpours are forecast as the day progresses, these most likely across parts of Spain and Portugal, perhaps Italy and most certainly across Greece and Turkey, along with surrounding countries where they could be locally severe too.

Saturday
Into Saturday and high pressure persists across the UK extending into much of Norway, Sweden and Finland, but with a marked temperature variation between very warm conditions still across the UK, but with cooler and fresher weather across much of Scandinavia as a N'ly wind continues here. Further sunny spells are forecast elsewhere but again with the daily summertime development of heavy and thundery afternoon downpours. These are still likely to be focused across Spain and Portugal, where perhaps severe storms are possible and equally across Turkey and Greece still, along with some other south-eastern areas of Europe too.
