A progression towards a lot of dry weather for much of Europe is forecast over the next few days, but after some wet weather across the north on Monday


Monday
Into Monday and high pressure will maintain settled conditions across much of the UK extending down into France, Belguim and across into parts of Germany as well with a very pleasant spell across these more central and north-western areas of Europe. Low pressure over Spain and Portugal maintains a risk of some heavy and thundery afternoon downpours, otherwise sunny spells and very warm. Low pressure persists across much of Norway, Sweden and Finland mind with some further rain or showers and cool here, these more unsettled and cool conditions continue to extend down into Poland and some other eastern regions of Europe too. Much of the Med will be dry with plenty of sunny spells and very warm and humid here but scattered afternoon heavy showers or thunderstorms remain possible, perhaps especially across Greece and Turkey and surrounding countries.

Tuesday
During Tuesday and high pressure across the UK and surrounding countries will maintain fine and settled conditions while pressure will also start to rise across much of Norway, Sweden and Finland and this meaning increasingly dry and settled conditions here too. The rest of Europe will be void of any active low pressure systems or weather fronts on Tuesday which does mean a lot of fine, sunny and dry weather, especially across the UK, France, Belgium and into central areas of Europe. Troughs will bring a risk of some heavy and thundery afternoon downpours across Spain and Portugal and perhaps especially so across more southern areas of Italy and across towards Greece and Turkey but even these will be more localised with no widespread persistent wet weather predicted. All areas warm or very warm.
