Heavy showers in eastern Europe, hot in the west


Tuesday
During Tuesday and high pressure across the UK and surrounding countries will maintain fine and settled conditions while pressure will also start to rise across much of Norway, Sweden and Finland and this meaning increasingly dry and settled conditions here too. The rest of Europe will be void of any active low pressure systems or weather fronts on Tuesday which does mean a lot of fine, sunny and dry weather, especially across the UK, France, Belgium and into central areas of Europe.
Troughs will bring a risk of some heavy and thundery afternoon downpours across Spain and Portugal and perhaps especially so across more southern areas of Italy and across towards Greece and Turkey but even these will be more localised with no widespread persistent wet weather predicted. All areas warm or very warm.

Wednesday
Thunderstorms in northern Spain on Wednesday. fair for most of the country and staying fair with good spells of sunshine for Portugal too. A fine day on the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Thunderstorms in southern Italy but fine with good spells of sunshine to the north. Greece will have further thunderstorms although it will be warm. Fair for much of Turkey but some showers to the north.
Fine with lots of sunshine and warm in France. A fair day for the Low Countries and for most of Germany, although some showers in the far east. Heavy showers in Poland. Scattered showers for Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland.
More sunshine for Denmark and dry too. Scattered showers developing in the Baltic States. Fair for Finland with plenty of sunshine. Sweden will be sunny and dry and it will be staying fine and sunny in Sweden, although some showers to the north.
