Fine much of northern Europe, heavy showers in the southeast
Monday High pressure influences areas from Iberia to southern Scandinavia, bringing plenty of fair and warm weather to Spain, France, Germany and the Low Countries. A risk of thickening cloud, patchy rain and a freshening breeze developing off the Atlantic for Portugal. Low pressure over the Balkans triggers slow-moving thunderstorms, which extend to parts of northern Italy and the eastern Alps, plus mainland Greece and Turkey. A few showers for eastern Europe. Temperatures widely into the mid-high 20s Celsius, and some spots over 30C, especially around the Black Sea. A warm southwesterly airflow across Scandinavia, mostly dry for Sweden and the Baltic, highs 25C. Scattered showers possible for Finland. Some more persistent rain for southwest Norway coming in on a brisk southwesterly wind.
Tuesday Rain in northwest Spain and Portugal on Tuesday. The rest of Iberia should be dry and bright with good spells of sunshine. More sunshine in the Balearics as well as through Corsica and Sardinia. Showers in northern Italy but dry and fine to the south. Greece will have afternoon thunderstorms in the north with some heavy showers affecting Turkey. A fine day in France with good spells of sunshine. Staying fair in the Low Countries and Germany too with more sunshine here. Fine through Poland although there will be some showers in Hungary and Austria as well as Switzerland. Isolated showers in Denmark with sunny spells. Fair for the Baltic States. Fair for Finland, again with sunshine here. Scattered showers in southern Sweden but fair to the north. Showers affecting Norway, some of them heavy.
