Brightness spreading out of the southwest
Snow easing for Austria

Dry and bright conditions will spread out of the western Mediterranean and into parts of France, Italy and the Alpine Region on Tuesday bringing some respite from the heavy snow that has plagued Austria of late. Elsewhere will see a mixture of broken cloud, good sunny spells and wintry showers.


Monday
Dry and bright on Monday for Portugal, Spain and the Balearics while it will start rather overcast for Corsica and Sardinia before brightening by the afternoon. Northern Italy will see a dry and bright day too while it will be overcast and windy in the south with some spells of heavy rain. Heavy rain and snow too for the Balkans and Greece while there will be a chance of a heavy shower in western and central parts of Turkey.
Rain clears away from southeastern France through the morning to leave a dry and bright day in the southeast, overcast but dry in the northwest. After a bright start it will become cloudy and windy for the Low Countries and Germany with an increasing chance of wintry showers through the afternoon. Sunny spells, strong winds and wintry showers for the Czech Republic and Poland while further heavy snowfall is expected for the Austrian Alps.
A cold northwest to northerly wind will bring a mixture of sunny spells, broken cloud and wintry showers to Denmark, the Baltics, Finland, Sweden and Norway on Monday with prolonged falls expected for northwest or west-facing coastlines.


Tuesday
Cloud builds from the west across Iberia on Tuesday but it will remain bright in the east and for the Balearics. Staying dry too. A mainly dry and bright day too for Corsica, Sardinia and Italy. Brighter for the Balkans and Greece with a chance of scattered snow showers in the east. Heavy rain, snow and high winds for western and central parts of Turkey.
A dry and bright day for France though cloud will build from the northwest through the day. Overcast but mainly dry for Benelux. Overcast for Germany and Poland with rain and snow for northern and eastern Germany and moving into western Poland throughout the day. Austria and the Czech Republic will see further snow through the morning but it should ease to leave a dry and bright afternoon.
It will be a wet day for Denmark while the Baltics will see further snow showers. Light scattered snow showers for southern parts of Finland while Sweden will start the day dry and bright before cloud and more wintry precipitation builds from the west. Further snow is expected for southern and western Norway on Tuesday.
